Coming to Minneapolis

The G-Rex Grant Program is a transformational initiative that culminated in the awarding of >300 G-Rex Grants and >$40M in resources and has resulted in a powerful coalition of organizations and individuals working to bring hope to cancer and autoimmune patients through adoptive cell and gene therapy.

In 2026, ScaleReady will host a series of 12-events around the United States with the goals of:

  • Rallying, fostering, and investing in the local cell & gene therapy community
  • Promoting transparency and collaboration among like-minded individuals and organizations workings towards a common goal
  • Catalyzing scienfitic and clinical progress through a shared sense of duty to the patients we all serve
  • Spotlighting the breadth of diverse innovative cell and gene therapy approaches being powered by G-Rex.

Speakers

Dr. Beau R. Webber

Meet Dr. Beau R. Webber

Beau R. Webber, Ph.D., is a tenured Associate Professor at the University of Minnesota and Co-Director of the Genome Engineering Shared Resource at the Masonic Cancer Center. His research integrates genome engineering, stem cell biology, and adoptive cellular therapy to develop curative treatments for genetic diseases and cancer. Dr. Webber has pioneered genome editing approaches in human immune cells, leading to first-in-human clinical trials of engineered T cells for advanced cancers. His lab focuses on advancing non-viral, multiplex engineering of immune cells and developing novel murine and human models to rigorously evaluate and enhance their therapeutic function.
Jonathan Tomashefsky

Meet Mr. John Tomashefsky

Jonathan is a Magna cum laude graduate in Communications at Worcester State University. Recognized for his outstanding communication skills and knowledge of cancer protocol and research, he was asked by Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey to speak at UMass/Chan Hospital and testify at the Senate of the Boston State House to advocate on the DRIVE Initiative, which is to raise awareness, research, and funding for CAR-T Immunotherapy. He is a three-time cancer survivor who has taken his seven-year battle and turned it into a mission to help others, raise awareness, and continue funding and research in both cancer and other life-threatening diseases.Jonathan was a well-respected intern at the Rosen Cancer Awareness Fund at Worcester State University and has now shifted into work as an Alumni Relations Coordinator where he provides community engagement . His drive and passion enabled him to become a dedicated and effective colleague, already helping students and their families affected by cancer gain access to resources and support so they can thrive and succeed in both work and life. Jonathan lives in Shrewsbury, MA, and enjoys the outdoors, sports of all kinds, and rooting for his favorite Boston and New England sports teams!
